8th Ward

The 8th Ward Democratic Committee represents Center City West, spanning from Broad Street to the Schuylkill River, and from Lombard Street north to Spring Garden and Fairmount Avenue. Established as Philadelphia’s first “Open Ward” in 1972, it fosters transparent, participatory politics by empowering committee people to engage directly in candidate endorsements and community outreach.
